About the Role
The Senior Social Media Officer plays a hands-on role in bringing Qatar Airways’ social presence to life through creative content development and day-to-day execution. This role is focused on developing engaging, social-first ideas, producing compelling content, supporting campaign delivery, and managing real-time publishing across social platforms. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you will help create content that is timely, relevant, and visually impactful.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and protect Qatar Airways’ brand reputation across social media platforms through timely, accurate, and engaging content.
- Plan and deliver social media daily/weekly/ monthly/yearly content that strengthen brand presence, support business objectives, and drive audience engagement.
- Lead the end-to-end development and production of dynamic social-first content, from concept through filming and/or editing, and publishing.
- Execute channel strategies that grow engagement, reach, and follower base through performance-led planning and optimisation.
- Manage large-scale social media and content projects, coordinating internal stakeholders, media agencies, and external partners to ensure high-quality delivery.

Qualification
About You
We’re seeking a passionate and seasoned professional for our Social Media team. The role is fast-paced, may require irregular hours, quick turnarounds, and flexibility—including weekend work—is essential for success.
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree (preferably in social media/digital marketing, communications, computer animation, 3D/graphic design, business administration or fine arts) and at least five years of experience in social media and content creation are necessary; experience in travel or at a social media agency is advantageous.
- Candidates should demonstrate resilience under pressure, handle nonstandard hours, multitask effectively, and manage large-scale, high-profile projects across multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Creativity, strong presentation abilities, a willingness to experiment, and attention to detail are key assets.
- Building and maintaining solid working relationships is essential.
- Hands-on experience managing all major social media channels is required.
- Proficiency with social media scheduling and analytics tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Skill in creating innovative content calendars and writing compelling captions
- Strong stakeholder management abilities, with experience managing media agencies and cross-functional partners.
- Competence in crafting presentations and generating reports
- Proven event coverage and content creation experience
- Awareness of current social media trends and techniques
- Ability to manage influencers and creators
- Hands-on experience in creative content production, with strong technical knowledge of filming, different camera models, and editing software.
You should also
- Understand SEO and its influence on social media results, possess prior experience in influencer marketing and collaborations, and oversee daily activities on primary channels like YouTube, Instagram, Twitter , Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat and Threads.
- Develop interactive content alongside agency partners to enhance engagement and brand loyalty, monitor channel performance, and optimize posting strategies using analytics and audience insights.
- Monitor key social metrics (reach, engagement, follower growth, conversions, etc.), build dashboards to track channel health, and prepare regular reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) on social trends and performance for leadership.
- Work with internal teams (Brand, Content Marketing, Creative, Editorial, Media, Product Marketing) to align social strategy with product launches and business objectives.
- Collaborate on content briefs to amplify organizational priorities on social platforms. Spot opportunities to leverage cultural moments and viral trends.
