Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Group Risk, Safety & Security team as a Senior People Safety & Health Officer in Wroclaw, Poland.
As Senior People Safety and Health Officer based in Wroclaw, you will be responsible for providing assistance and guidance on matters relating to Health and Safety, championing and promoting health and safety throughout Qatar Airways Group.
Specific responsibilities:
• Liaise with Qatar Airways Group outstation stakeholders to ensure compliance with the applicable national and/or state/regional Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements.
• Participate in the recommendation of changes in policies, procedures and working practices, help monitor the review and revision of Health & Safety policies & procedures to ensure continued compliance with all legal and other relevant requirements.
• Facilitate the implementation of OHS Manual standards and procedures into Qatar Airways Group operations ensuring compliance.
• Assist with staff and customer incidents’ related reports to ensure that the appropriate actions are taken to prevent reoccurrence.
• Ensure the effective development and implementation of campaigns within Qatar Airways to reduce incidents and injuries to Qatar Airways Group staff and passengers across the business.
• Participate in the investigation of incidents and accidents related to Qatar Airways Group Staff and Customers on Ground.
• Assist line manager in the development, implementation and periodic review of OHS risk assessments (including fire risk assessments) for Qatar Airways Group Outstation commercial locations.
• Conduct health and safety inspections and audits throughout Qatar Airways Group Outstation commercial locations to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance. Make recommendations for controls to the appropriate department for implementation and follow up to validate the effectiveness of the controls.
• Support, develop, implement and review emergency procedures and action plans for Qatar Airways Group Outstation commercial locations which will include fire evacuation procedures at a minimum.
• Review and action the OHS evaluation of Permit-to-Work (PTW) requests for Qatar Airways Group Outstation commercial locations and ensure that all high-risk activities meet the relevant safety requirements as per the applicable national and/or state/regional regulatory OHS requirements.

Qualifications
About you
The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
• Relevant qualifications with significant experience and knowledge of national and international Occupational Health and Safety laws and international best practices.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent.
• ISO 45001 auditing qualifications and any mandatory local Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) qualifications required by the law.
• Strong Knowledge of national and international Occupational Health and Safety laws and international best practices.
• Possess a critical and analytic mind with a view to standardize procedures attributed to safety of Operations.
• Requires strong interpersonal and investigative skills, and conflict resolution abilities with a strong command for details.
• Excellent data analysis and presentation skills.
• Fluency in both spoken and written Polish and English
• Proficiency in German and French highly desirable but not essential.
• Project Management and planning skills.
• You must also have the current legal right to live and work in Poland to be considered for this role.
