About Your Role
In this role, you will oversee the end to end management of Warranty operations within QR Technical, ensuring all technical stakeholders receive effective support for warranty and guarantee claim requirements while maximizing cost savings. You will work in collaboration with the VP Technical Strategic Procurement to design and plan the department’s structure, workforce needs, and budget, ensuring capital expenditure remains within approved limits and strong financial governance is maintained. You will drive optimal value from contracts and agreements with OEMs, vendors, overseas partners, in house teams and authorized repair agencies covering aircraft, APUs, BFE, SFE, and engines for both leased and owned assets.
Strategic
- Responsible for strategically planning and managing Warranty Department annual targets and KPl's based on the owned or leased airframe, or equipment under warranty and guarantee agreements.
- Develop agreed functional processes for all Warranty related activities with internal stakeholders to provide for efficiency in Warranty Operations and Collection.
- Develop and implement a system to execute agreed processes to optimize claims raised in accordance with valid contracts.
Operational
- Lead and develop a high performing, cross functional Warranty team, collaborating with strategic suppliers to deliver long term value and meet demanding timelines.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, ensuring warranty claims are effectively executed to achieve the annual departmental targets.
- Assess business needs and translate them into clear, actionable requirements, ensuring the team’s activities align with desired operational outcomes
- Optimize workforce planning, ensuring adequate staff availability for timely claim submission and minimizing the risk of disputes.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, ensuring smooth access to data and inputs required for efficient claims processing.\Strengthen professional relationships with OEMs and Vendors, creating streamlined claim procedures that minimize disputes and accelerate reimbursements.
Liaise with Senior Manager Procurement on any projected contract containing warranty or guarantee clauses to be reviewed by subordinate staff and provide feedback on coverage requirements prior signage

Qualifications
Essential
- Qualification in Aeronautical/Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering.
- High School or Vocational Qualification with minimum 12 years of experience OR Bachelor Degree with minimum 10 years of experience.
- Experience in management related to Warranty related contracts
- Experience in Data, Systems & Process Automation
- Aviation Technical Knowledge (Engineering & Maintenance Operations) is mandatory
- Good understanding in Aviation Maintenance support contracts/agreements.
- Experience gained in aviation maintenance and/or engineering environment.
- Experience of engaging senior stakeholders
Preferred
- Experience on commercial negotiations is highly recommended but is not mandatory.
- Experience with Warranty Management Systems is highly recommended but is not mandatory
- Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
- Demonstrable stakeholder management skills including extensive support of Exec and C level leadership agenda.
- Expert Negotiator who can harness internal and external expertise to deliver great results.
- Proven ability to negotiate a wide range of high value (c$10m plus) complex commercial arrangements.
- Risk mind-set underpinned by policy. Demonstrable experience of balancing risk and reward
