Senior Accountant - Record to Report - Ahmedabad, India

Qatar Airways is looking for experienced staff to join our record to report team as Senior Accountant to drive its Global Business Services (GBS) operations in Ahmedabad, India.

Senior Accountant- Record to Report  is responsible to perform and monitor period-end closing activity, financial planning and reporting, budgeting and forecasting, doing fixed assets, scenario analysis, accounting, and supporting internal and external audit. 

Responsibilities: 

• Perform period-end closing activities covering general ledger processing, provisioning, GL scrutiny, accrual postings and bank and intercompany reconciliations
• Perform data entry and booking of journal entries in the ERP system
• Provide financial data per deliverables in required format as per agreed timelines
• Ensure on time closing of books of accounts, and review GL schedules to ensure accounting quality guidelines are met and in line with management direction.
• Ensure that individual SLAs and KPI targets are met
• Maintain fixed asset register as per the group policies
• Perform fixed asset and lease accounting calculations liaising with the business finance teams
• Resolve queries (internal and external) related to R2R within defined turnaround time acting as the finance SPOC on fleet ownership cost
• Assist in creating supporting documentation as per IFRS requirements, perform accounting for new lease creation, modifications, terminations and buyouts
• Support fleet ownership cost analysis with timely inputs for budgeting, forecasting and scenario analysis for business cases and accounting papers
• Liaise with the location teams as needed to provide support and enable the desired business outcomes
• Prepare all reconciliations and schedules on monthly basis for internal review and yearly for audit purpose
• Support tax related activities (filing, liaising and assessment) for all the applicable regions
• Respond to both internal and external audit queries to ensure complete, timely and accurate responses to information requests
• Add to the knowledge management databases, particularly regarding resolution of issues
• Perform activities assigned by Team Lead
• Support team leads with relevant information with respect to any queries/issues raised in governance forums
• Manage escalations from Team Members
