Description

Job Purpose:

The main objective of the position is to ensure support for financial accounting & reporting activities for the entire QR Group are executed in line with Accounting Frameworks.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Strategic

  • Support the line manager to provide insights to Management, for strategic decision making through researching IFRSs and QR Group's policies.
  • Assist with researching International Accounting/Reporting Standards and industry accounting best practices to ensure Airline and Group accounting processes are in line with them.

Operational

  • Responsible for timely completion of external audits of QR Group.
  • Support the preparation of QR Group consolidated financial statements in line IFRSs.
  • Assist with the Monthly and Yearly Financial Statements for Group and Individual entities are prepared in line with IFRSs.
  • Assisting Manager R2R Accounting and Reporting to manage the interim and year-end external audit requirements as per timelines.
  • Developing white papers for IFRSs and identifying major changes impacting Group Entities.
  • Support month end closing activities are completed in line with Month Timetable.
  • Assist with measuring performance against defined key performance indicators (KPIs), review KPIs on a regular basis and suggest changes where necessary.
  • Support the Finance Transformation initiatives by providing accounting advices and process knowledge.
  • Educate finance staff in applying IFRSs/IASs and the best industry accounting practices.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by Finance Management.

Management & Leadership

  • Establish the department or team’s objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
  • Regularly evaluate the department or team’s objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and make appropriate changes if needed.
  • Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
  • Train and develop other employees, to ensure succession planning is in place.
  • To be committed and contribute to the National talent development, by coaching the national developees, preparing them for a career with boundless potential. Leading to the program's continued growth and success.

Qualification

About You:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 6 years of job-related experience
  • Relevant University degree (Finance, Accounting, Business or related).
  • Recognized professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant post-qualification experience in finance, group controllership, controls, or finance transformation.
  • Proven track record leading consolidation and reporting for a multi-entity group.
  • Hands-on experience integrating acquisitions and standardizing processes across multiple countries (ERP implementations, new tax set-ups, intercompany frameworks, winding-down of legacy operations).
  • Demonstrable experience driving real centralization / shared services / GBS migrations and rationalization of outsourced vendors.
  • Strong IFRS knowledge applied in a complex group environment.
  • Experience interfacing with external auditors, PE / Lender stakeholders and Boards on monthly and annual reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Deep knowledge of financial reporting and internal controls and business processes.
  • Proven ability to streamline processes through technology, including practical experience with automation and AI use cases.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills at Corporate and field level.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), executive presence and a true partnering mindset.
  • Comfortable operating across cultures, time zones and regulatory environments.
  • Project / Programme management discipline – able to plan, execute and report progress against tight milestones.

     

    Preferred:

     

  • Postgraduate qualification (MBA, MSc) and/or further certifications in Programme Management, Internal Controls or Transformation.
  • Experience in the aviation, travel or asset-heavy global services industry, ideally with exposure to ground services, cargo or airline station operations.
  • Exposure to Oracle Fusion Cloud / Oracle EBS / SAP and advanced reporting/consolidation tools.
  • Practical experience embedding automation and AI use cases to streamline consolidation and reporting processes
