About the role
Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Compliance and Safety (Technical) team as a Projects & Process Development Specialist to be based in Doha, Qatar.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the line manager in driving continuous improvement initiatives across MRO (Part-145) and CAMO management systems, with a specific focus on enhancing Safety Management System (SMS) effectiveness. This role applies structured methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, and FMEA to optimize safety processes, reduce risk, and improve operational performance.

Specific responsibilities for the role include:
•    Lead and support continuous improvement projects targeting SMS processes across MRO and CAMO.
•    Apply Lean Six Sigma tools (DMAIC, SMED, 5S, FMEA) to enhance hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety reporting workflows.
•    Conduct value stream mapping to identify inefficiencies in safety-related processes and propose actionable improvements.
•    Collaborate with SMS stakeholders to develop and implement process enhancements that align with regulatory requirements and safety objectives.
•    Facilitate cross-functional workshops and Kaizen events to drive engagement and innovation in safety performance.
•    Monitor and report on the effectiveness of implemented improvements using safety KPIs and dashboards.
•    Support the development of standardized workflow procedures and documentation for SMS-related activities.
•    Assist line manager in integrating continuous improvement principles into safety audits, investigations, risk management, and corrective action planning.
•    Collaborate with other department heads to improve work methods, efficient processes and ensure that adequate and proper controls are in place.
•    Coordinate/assist in procedural review with other Departments as and when required.
•    Assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program.

Qualifications

About you
The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
•    Tertiary qualification or equivalent with 4 years’ experience in aviation, MRO, CAMO or related technical operations
•    Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt)
•    Proven track record in leading process improvement and project management initiatives
•    Proficient in process mapping tools, data analysis, and project tracking software
•    Project Management certification (PMP, Prince2) is preferred
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment 
•    Understanding and application of regulatory requirements
•    Ability to take initiatives and plan improvements
•    Good understanding of computer database, i.e. Trax, MS Access is desirable
•    Knowledge of Compliance and Safety systems and improvement methodologies is an advantage
