Manager Business & Infrastructure Development

About the Role
To lead the planning, development, and delivery of strategic business and infrastructure initiatives that support operational excellence, organizational growth, and long-term business objectives. The role is responsible for business case development, feasibility assessments, capital investment planning, project governance, and the evaluation and implementation of business improvement and development opportunities, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, operational requirements, and customer needs

Strategic

• Support the identification, assessment, development, and implementation of new business opportunities, services, and strategic initiatives that contribute to business growth, service diversification, and enhanced customer value, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy, operational capabilities, and long-term business objectives.
• Develop and implement strategic and tactical infrastructure development plans to enhance operational capabilities and performance to meet business demands and support growth.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to plan and deliver a business and infrastructure development plan to reduce risks and minimize operational disruption

• Manage risks identified by Cargo Leadership team and define mitigation resolutions to ensure business continuity.

   

Operational

• Conduct market, operational, and feasibility assessments to evaluate potential business opportunities and service enhancements.
• Develop business cases, financial assessments, implementation plans, and supporting documentation for proposed initiatives.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to define operational, infrastructure, technology, regulatory, and resource requirements
• Lead assigned workstreams associated with the implementation of approved business development initiatives.
• Support the development of operating models, processes, and governance frameworks required to establish new services and capabilities.
• Monitor implementation progress, benefits realization, and service performance, recommending improvements where required.
• Plan, execute and monitor the delivery and closure of assigned projects to achieve best in class within air cargo handling. Manage all projects and relevant teams to provide a high-level service within budget and alignment with QR and HIA strategic direction and governance. Steer and support design consultants and contractor teams with the execution of project deliverables ensuring all current and future business requirements are met.
• Oversee quality control throughout all project life cycles and liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective delivery within agreed timelines
• Provide structured project documentation and progress reports for all projects to ensure all milestones are tracked to avoid any deviation from project plans and timelines.
• Responsible for managing and planning the business and infrastructure development resources (own, third-party vendors and consultants) in collaboration with relevant Qatar Airways Group stakeholders in order to ensure the successful delivery of projects within budget and assigned timelines.
• Collaborate with ORAT Project team for trial and training requirements for all major infrastructure projects to facilitate a smooth transition into new facilities.
• Ensure designs are based on LEAN/Six Sigma principles for efficient and effective process and material flows throughout the Cargo Campus.
• Facilitate handovers for all completed projects to the business units and ensure Operational Readiness Activation and Transition (ORAT).
• Ensure compliance with established project management and work practices to deliver a safe and secure environment across the cargo Campus.
• Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department
