First Commis Chef | Lounges & Premium Operations

About the Role:

As a First Commis Chef, you will be required to deliver exceptional service in all areas of the kitchen operations by ensuring efficient and professional processing of passenger requirements and act as an ambassador for the Qatar Airways premium product. 
Understands and demonstrates at all times the importance of upholding the highest personal and professional standard and have positive and passionate attitude towards the Qatar Airways customers and Qatar Airways. 

Operational:

• Performs daily operational tasks as per standard operating procedures i.e., setting up of buffets and kitchen areas etc.
• Ensures that product knowledge of all food items served is attained so that customers receive accurate information about the various food items served during service.
• Responsible for marshalling and providing guidance to the Second Commis Chefs on duty.
• Provides operational updates and communicates daily instances to the Chef De Partie.
• Participates in the preparation of menu items and actively involved in the presentation of buffets.
• Works collectively and amicably with various team members to ensure a positive team environment.
• Ensures that visual appearance of the kitchen area is maintained at all times by reporting faulty equipment, furniture or items.
• Assist teams in the preparation of certain food items as directed by the Demi Chef De Partie.
• Ensure that all kitchen stocks are utilized on the basis of first-in, first-out basis (FIFO) ensuring that the oldest stock items recorded as utilized first so that items do not expire and only the freshest stock is utilized.
• Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
