About the role:

We are currently recruiting for Development Engineer Level II to join our MRO Services team.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the Qatar Executive fleet and contracted third-party customer aircraft are fully compliant with all applicable continuing airworthiness requirements. This includes systematically coordinating regulatory mandates, technical standards, and airworthiness instructions across the contracted customer aircraft fleet.
You will analyze root causes of airworthiness and reliability issues, assess their operational and financial impact, and develop evidence-based solutions. Additionally, you will lead the implementation of effective action plans to sustain optimal aircraft reliability while driving cost efficiency for both Qatar Executive and third-party customers.

Operational Accountabilities:

  • Provide high-level engineering support to Maintenance, Qatar Executive (QE), and external airline customers by resolving complex technical queries, investigating recurrent defects, and addressing in-service events through data-driven analysis, technical evaluation, and OEM coordination. Ensure all activities are aligned with required approvals from QE and contracted third-party customers.

  • Act as a key liaison with OEMs, vendors, and technical data providers to facilitate timely clarification of engineering issues and validate technical recommendations, ensuring alignment with Qatar Executive and third-party customer requirements.

  • Coordinate the execution of customer requirements with internal stakeholders, MRO partners, and OEM representatives to ensure timely implementation (embodiment) and proper documentation closure in compliance with continuing airworthiness standards.

  • Ensure all technical proposals related to contracted aircraft are reviewed and implemented in accordance with approved TPM procedures. Provide evidence-based recommendations addressing airworthiness impact, embodiment requirements, and applicability across QE and customer fleets.

  • Serve as the primary interface between Qatar Executive, third-party customers, OEM engineering teams, vendors, and technical data providers. Manage technical inquiries, obtain clarifications, validate recommendations, and ensure OEM inputs receive necessary approvals prior to fleet-wide deployment.

  • Monitor global industry trends, OEM communications, and insights from operators and MRO organizations regarding in-service issues. Participate in OEM conferences, technical workshops, and coordination meetings to proactively identify emerging risks and incorporate best practices into engineering strategies.

  • Review engineering data, technical documentation, design drawings, and embodiment records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with approved standards before implementation on aircraft or components.

  • Perform additional duties related to the role as assigned by the Head of the Department.

Qualification

About You: 

To be successful in the role, you must have the following qualification and skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (B.Eng. / BSc) in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Aeronautical Engineering, or equivalent qualification OR Holder of a valid ICAO Type II License within minimum 4 years of job-related experience 
  • Proven experience in an airworthiness, reliability, or technical support engineering role within a Continuing Airworthiness Maintenance Organization (CAMO) of a reputable airline
  • For Qatari Nationals: Bachelor’s degree without prior experience 
  • Proven experience using Maintenance Information Systems (MIS) such as TRAX, or equivalent platforms, for maintenance planning, reliability tracking, and engineering data management

Job Specific Skills:

Essential: 

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft systems, powerplant, and structures
  • Experience with OEM platforms (Airbus World, My Boeing Fleet, AHM/Airman, etc.)
  • Familiarity with OEM technical query systems (Airbus/Boeing portals)Proficiency in MIS tools (e.g., TRAX) and engineering applications
  • Good understanding of airworthiness regulations and company procedures
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Effective communication and stakeholder coordination abilities
  • Proactive approach with ability to identify risks and drive improvements

Preferred: 

  • Good knowledge of and experience in project management
