About the Role:

As the Business Finance Partner, you will be responsible for preparing financial and strategic information, monitoring variance against budgets, evaluating opportunities and risks, and implementing cost control measures.

You will support middle management with financial business cases, dashboards, and analyses, while delivering meaningful and insightful reporting to senior management. You will also manage requests from senior leadership, prioritize workloads, oversee team activities, and ensure compliance with Qatar Airways accounting policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong business partner relationships with leaders across assigned areas.
  • Promote a value-driven mindset, ensuring project proposals consider value, risk, and priority.
  • Prepare and present monthly KPI performance reports, analyzing revenue and expenditure variances.
  • Prepare and present quarterly rolling forecasts to business and financial stakeholders.
  • Analyze actuals, forecasts, and budgets, providing insights on performance against benchmarks.
  • Review commercial contracts and proposals to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Provide objective financial insights and recommendations for optimal resource allocation.
  • Deliver ongoing financial analysis, cost reduction initiatives, and performance insights.
  • Lead budgeting processes in line with CFO directives and challenge stakeholders to optimize resource use.
  • Enhance reporting and analysis for Cost Management Committee (CMC) and conduct post-review evaluations.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of strategic and business projects, providing recommendations.
  • Monitor expenditure variances and ensure alignment with budget plans.
  • Investigate significant variances and address risks and opportunities in forecasts.
  • Oversee inventory processes and ensure stock levels are maintained appropriately.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualification

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of job-related experience.
  • Experience working under tight reporting timelines while managing multiple responsibilities and interruptions.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Strong communication, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret data, and present findings effectively.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of records and information.
  • Good knowledge of internal finance systems.
  • Knowledge of cost centre accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand business cycles and their impact on profit and loss.
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Oracle Financials.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills, able to prioritize tasks, handle multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work with multiple reporting lines.
  • Proven commercial skills and business acumen.
  • Strong managerial skills including delegation, mentoring, coaching, and team development.
