About the role
The GSE Assistant Mechanic is to ensure that all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance tasks are carried out under the supervision of Mechanic to the highest possible standard. All work should be performed as per manufacturer maintenance manuals and GSE workshop procedures, in the most productive and cost effective manner using the available resources.
Some of the tasks include:
- Responsible for the completion of assigned tasks to provide satisfactory service to customers.
- Able to continue with assigned tasks under supervision
- Operates equipment or tooling relating to work area to meet time frame objectives for tasks.
- Interprets information over a range of normal activities to maintain satisfactory continuous operation.
- Meets set productivity standards.
- Accountable to comply with the company health and safety policy
- Task must comply with the technical instructions to carry out maintenance on ground equipment, and sign off that work completed is in accordance with the stated instructions
- Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department

Qualification
About You
Dynamic and competent candidate to join the Technical GSE Department must possess the following:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 1 years of job-related experience or
- High School Qualification with Minimum 2 years of job-related experience
Essential
• General knowledge relative to skills required in the area of employment
• General understanding of work procedures to operate equipment to maintain satisfactory operation
Preferred
• Sufficient skills within work area in a recognized airline environment
• Recognized aeronautical / technical training certificates
• Work experience on components on QR capability list
Job Specific Skills:
Essential
• Determining the kinds of tools equipment's needed to do the job
• Controlling operations of equipment's or systems
• Understanding written instructions in work related documents
Preferred
• Capable of working as a team
• Capable of communicating within the group
• General understanding of maintenance and handling needed on shop equipment
