About Your Job:

 

As a Senior Manager you will be responsible for developing DQ (Discover Qatar) operations strategy of the visa processing, contact center, campsite, tours/vehicle and airport base.  You will provide strategic leadership, direction and management oversight to overall operations and responsible for improving the performance, productivity, and profitability of the departmental and organizational operations through the provisions of effective methods and strategies. Ensuring that this service fully satisfies all standards procedures as enforced by regulatory bodies and up to the highest applicable industry standards.

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

You will be overseeing day to day activities of the Operations department. Leads a team of Managers ensuring the highest possible levels of service delivery. You will communicate with the team their value and potential and build a climate of trust and cooperation within the department whilst managing cultural diversity. It is also your responsibility to develop policies and procedures that ensure DQ operational requirements are consistently cost effective, safety and delivered and comply with all applicable business and industry specific legislative/regulatory requirements. 

You will develop strategic plans for DQ operations in terms of:

  • Anticipating emerging business changes and get ahead of the curve to recommend necessary changes
  • Coordinating and capturing management team input into development plans, providing analytical input and guidance to development plans
  • Driving initiatives and playing a significant role in short and long-term planning towards operational excellence
  • Assisting in the development of various long and short term business plans for the department ensuring that major corporate objectives are maintained throughout the planning process
  • Developing business solutions for proposed changes
  • Developing ways to improve performance and efficiency and lower costs through process improvements

You will provide update and monitoring of designated projects assigned by SVP-DQ to ensure targets are met and objectives secured. Recommend control procedures throughout the project. Manage and maintain excellent relationships with local authorities, government officials and suppliers to  facilitate negotiations related to daily operations as well as special projects. Communicate effectively with board members, employees, and government authorities.

About You:

We are looking for confident decision makers with strong communication skills and direct experience in Operations within tourism/hospitality industry.  Your management, sound leadership, financial and presentation skills and relationship building skills are crucial to excel in this role.

 

 You will hold a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent in a related field with at least 10 years of job related experience, including management experience.  You will require proven record of accomplishment of managing large operational teams and delivering results within a multi-national environment.

 

We need you to be able to work under pressure in a dynamic working environment, perform to tight deadlines and work on multiple projects effectively. You will be working in a multi-cultural environment and need to be able to delegate work, set clear direction for your team and manage workflow of both internal and external processes.
