About Your Job:

In this role you will be responsible for planning, organising and monitoring all building related maintenance activities including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, civil works, cleaning, landscaping to ensure smooth running of the buildings/facilities at multiple locations in numerous zones. You will ensure that the staff accommodation is properly maintained and operational as per Qatar Airways standards in a cost effective and timely manner. Supervise personnel (direct & indirect) and manage resources effectively and efficiently and ensure compliance and processes are followed.

Operational                                                        

  • Makes periodic inspections of assigned facilities to determine condition, prepare building inspection reports, diagnose problems and initiate necessary action plans to optimize the life span and operational reliability and ensure that the facilities are properly maintained in accordance with the best engineering practices
  • Communicate maintenance related issues to landlord wherever the maintenance responsibility falls under and ensure the work is completed within set QR timelines and standards
  • Inspects all completed maintenance related works, assures that work is completed as per the scope of work and sign off the completion certificate
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager in drafting detailed scope of work for plumbing, electrical and HVAC components of the project
  • Respond to emergency situations such as Fire, Power & AC failure, activation of fire alarms or any other major issues on 24/7 days a week basis and plan contingency plans to deal efficiently with such emergencies
  • Plan and administer the work of contracted staff on all projects in assigning, reviewing and evaluating work in progress
  • Review request for service, determine whether the problem can be resolved through in-house resources, set priorities/timelines, communicate the timelines to customer and accordingly execute the job
  • Plan labour and material needs for designated maintenance and repair jobs to ensure adequate materials and equipment are available to carry out scheduled / unscheduled maintenance tasks and provide input to storekeeper on the material required
  • Maintain daily records regarding manpower, materials and equipment usage
  • Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for all mechanical equipment.
  • Organize manufactures suggested systems and parts checks on all facility equipment into an ongoing preventative specialized equipment’s
  • Maintain emergency standby power, fire & safety equipment’s and performs weekly testing on all emergency generators
  • Oversee and participate in the preventative maintenance and monitoring of the operation of HVAC units.
  • Maintain data relating to temperature, humidity and time of day for performance monitoring.

 Management & Leadership

  • Establish the team objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives
  • Regularly evaluate the team objectives, plans, procedures and practices and makes appropriate changes if needed
  • Oversee and supervise employees. Directly daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery
  • Performance manager direct reports to ensure a high level of productivity
About You:

You should hold a Trade or vocational qualification with minimum 4 years of job related experience with a minimum of 3 years of experience within Hotel, Hospitality or Residential Facilities maintenance operations.

We are looking for someone with the knowledge of property management principles, procedures and standards with excellent people management skills as the job involves managing Service Provider personnel and staff staying in company accommodation. You should have excellent knowledge in maintenance works for electrical, plumbing, drainage and air condition is a must.  Diploma Certification in an electrical / mechanical field will be an added advantage. The right candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills along with ability to multi task and prioritise.

Qatar Airways conducts practical trade tests at selection time to ensure that potential employees have the required skills. The role involves rotational shift work to cover a 24/7 operation.
