About Your Job:

As Baggage Services Duty Manager you will ensure the monitoring and functioning of smooth operations at Hamad International Airport (HIA) to maintain a high standard of service delivery to all customers arriving and transferring at Doha hub.  You will take timely decisions pertaining to baggage operations at Arrival Terminal and Baggage Control Center-Transfer Baggage area.

Accountabilities include:

  • Manage the implementation of in-house procedures for Baggage Services department - Landside and Airside areas at HIA  
  • Monitor and review key performance indicators and ensure they are met
  • Ensure all passengers are handled correctly and a personalized service is provided to high yield passenger as well as any special service required 
  • Ensure timely delivery of arrival baggage in the baggage reclaim area
  • Implement action plan for any diverted flight / misconnections / mass offloading at respective stations
  • Maintain and control costs pertaining to handling of petty cash
  • Ensure justification is provided on cost with proper documentations, passenger signatures and finance documents maintained
  • Ensure all discrepancies / AQD's are reported in a timely manner
About You:

To be considered in this role you must hold a relevant College or University qualification to a min. Bachelor's level or equivalent and have a least 5 years of relevant experience.  You will have also attended an Advanced level course on WorldTracer System, preferably SITA and have good desktop application ability including Microsoft Office, the intranet and internet functionality.

Fluency in spoken/written English, with extensive overall knowledge of all areas of airline / airport / ground handling operations are essential requirements of the job.  Also required is your ability to multitask, prioritize work and work under pressure.  You should have managerial ability and be able to delegate work, set direction and manage workflow.
