About Your Job:

Reporting to the Manager GSE Maintenance and Workshop, you will be responsible for managing GSE/vehicle maintenance operations at Qatar Aviation Services (QAS) Engineering Workshop as rostered. You will have to provide leadership, direction and accountability to GSE/vehicle maintenance staff in order to deliver a safe, reliable and cost effective maintenance service on time whilst achieving the highest possible levels of fleet serviceability and availability.

You will be also responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Prioritize and coordinate maintenance actions in order to maintain acceptable serviceability levels of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and fleet vehicles and to achieve optimal preventative maintenance service levels. You will utilize reference materials such as drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics, and technical publications during the maintenance process.
  • Identify the spare parts, material and consumable requirements and define stock levels in conjunction with GSE Material Planning and Stores teams.
  • Ensure that all work performed or activities that occurred during the work shift are accurately documented through defined processes and registered forms/systems.
  • Participate audits performed by airlines, internal (QAS/QR group) or external (IATA, HIA, etc.)
  • Perform technical or non-technical audits or random spot checks to assess compliance to policies (Safety, Quality, Finance, Procurement, etc.) procedures (ISO, Engineering WI/SOP, PMI checklists, etc.) and guidelines (including manufacturers’ recommendations, verbal briefings, etc.) and report any non- compliance with corrective/preventive action proposal.


About You:

To be considered in this role you must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Discipline with minimum five (5) years’ experience in a supervisory level within a large maintenance organization, ideally aviation ground support or heavy industry and have strong knowledge of vehicle and GSE maintenance.

You should also possess a strong, decisive and collaborative leadership style with highest standards of integrity, equality and respect. Ability to effectively communicate with clear, concise and consistent messages and able lead, manage, inspire and engage a large multi-cultural workforce. Proficiency in MS office applications, experience in GSE Telematics and Fleet Management System will be an added advantage.
