Qatar Duty Free (QDF) is an award winning subsidiary of Qatar Airways, the national airline of the state of Qatar and currently operates at the Departure, Arrivals, VIP and Premium Terminal of Hamad International Airport. As one of the fastest growing Duty Free operations in the world, Qatar Duty Free operates from the new Hamad International Airport (HIA). HIA is also home to the newly created QDF Food & Beverage Division which will set new benchmarks in airport hospitality.

About Your Job:

You will conceptualise, plan, supervise and execute all marketing and corporate communication activities of QDFC. In addition, this role will also take charge as a Project Manager for all External Promotional activities conducted at the Duty Free premises. This role will lead, guide and extract the best practices from the support staff in order to deliver efficiently all the relevant communications (internal and external) that will assist the Senior Management in achieving the established sales budgets.

 Key accountabilities include but not limited to:- 

  • To define, follow  and execute QDFC Brand Guidelines for effective communications

  • You will ensure that the retail outlets are properly merchandised and the POS material provided by suppliers is utilised to best effect to maximise current and future revenue benefits derived from promotional budgets as well as develop, guide and motivate Merchandising standards for all categories.

  • Negotiation with creative suppliers to achieve competitive rates on media and creative work to benefit the Inflight Magazine/ QDF Flyers, website and Inflight entertainment

  • Facilitate brand development and business development through marketing/sales related programs

  • Supervise RFP protocol process including soliciting RFP’s from desirable prospective supplies and writing proposals for new business; participate in planning and presentation sessions, when assigned.

  •  Draft and implement marketing plans and the monthly sales incentive structures

  • Introduce and implement new business procedures as and when required in order to alleviate the immense growth forecasted.

  • Monitor and Control all the website related activities with creative updates, and maintain and update the website in order maximise sales through the website.

  • Develop internal and external reporting systems for monitoring and utilisation of marketing programs and promotional activity.

  • Coordination and regular updates of the website, the Inflight entertainment shopping for monthly updates, the Duty paid business and the Frequent Flyer redemption program

  • You will be tasked to generate reports related to reports, SEO and Social Media reach as well as business generated through the website

About You:

To be effective in this role, you will need a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum 8 years of job-related experience in managing and executing marketing related activities in an advertising agency or medium sized Duty Free operations.

Strong project management skills are essential as is your understanding of broad marketing concepts and ability to use different market techniques. 

We are looking for Self-driven individual, able to establish goals, deliverables, timelines, and budgets with little or no motivation from superiors. You should be able to clearly communicate and manage Client Relationships.

You should have extensive technical knowledge in Print, Production, Web and A/V Media. Extensive budget management experience and exposure to P&L responsibility is also necessary.
