About Your Job:

The Product Development and Quality Control Manager will support the Line Manager in the development of new Discover Qatar (DQ) products, focusing on the development of DQ owned (created) products.  You will have responsibility for all aspects of product design, pricing and commercialization including staff training, SOP’s (with operations team) and enhancements.

 

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Support Line Manager and give output and new innovative ideas to develop excursion and tour packages in and around Qatar.
  • Identify and create products and services which match the marketing strategy, target customer groups and requirements of Qatar Airways network.
  • Review current products by analyzing and making recommendations based on current needs and future requirements.
  • Develop, execute and manage project plans for the development of new tours and excursions in a timely and cost efficient manager.
  • Develop DQ product portfolio addressing the customer and new channel needs.
  • Provide evaluation of key development projects, test products and services, initiating process of continuous improvement and inspect competitors’ products.

 

 

About You:

You will have a relevant College or University qualification to a min. Bachelor’s level or equivalent and a minimum 7 years of relevant experience in product development, negotiation and contracting experience at a managerial level in a large wholesale tour operation. 

You will also hold excellent negotiation and contracting skills and have a solid understanding of all aspects of international tour operations.  It is essential you have a comprehensive regional / product knowledge of Qatar and GCC and understand margins and profits for a wholesale tour operation. 

Excellent spoken and written communication in English language is required, with Arabic being a major advantage.
