About the Job:

As a senior cargo operations agent you will provide cargo operations and customer service functions including interactions with customers and ground handling agents (GHAs) for both import and export cargo. You will secure proper operational and customer service support to enable station to meet the cargo target. You will also ensure full compliance at all times with all safety and security regulations and procedures. You will identify needs and improve cargo services and operational performance at station. 

Key Accountability : 

  • Support the supervisor in developing operational plans and to provide quality customer services and surpass revenue targets.
  • You will liaise with local ground handling agents (GHAs) and ensure smooth running of the operations and coordinate with head office cargo department to ensure a high quality service provided by QR both import and export.
  • You will plan flights with maximum utilization of flight capacity and maintain close coordination between Qatar Airways (QR) space control and customers by ensuring their shipments are transferred, delivered on time, correct priority given to shipments and for maximum utilization of spance on aircrafts.
  • Administration of ULD stock and cargo stationary in coordination with the GHA.
  • Ensure that notifications are sent officially on cargo arrival information, to freight forwarders, agents, direct customers to ensure the cargo does not stay under airlines custody for long periods and for space availability at the warehouse. 


About You:

You must have a trade, vocational or diploma qualification however a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education certificate would be preferred. A minimum of 3 years of airline or air-freight operations experience preferred. Computer literate and familiar with MS Office applications (Word, Excel Power Point and Access). Understanding of TACT rules and IATA regulations.

You must have excellent communication skills  and good command of written and spoken English.

Proven experience in Cargo Sales & Cargo Systems would be an added advantage.
