JOB PURPOSE::

As the Manager Performance & Support you will manage and measure the performance review and governance processes in alliances & partnerships, creating and maintaining strategic choices for the company to create competitive advantage.

The Manager Performance & Support is a key role within Qatar Airways, Key to your success will be your leading and supporting teams within the department to ensure that one world partnerships, industry affairs and partnership teams can maximize the value of the agreements. An integral part of this role will be to provide support and advice and at times lead the negotiation of agreements on behalf of Qatar Airways with other carriers; managing the ‘front end’ of such negotiations.

You must be able to plan, organize, direct, co-ordinate and supervise functions in a fast-paced in a changing facility environment. You will also be responsible to prepare annual budgets and deliver within the budgets.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Operational

  • Develop metrics to quantify the benefits of partnerships & alliances, building reports and analyses
  • In coordination with SVP, develop KPI’s for alliance and partnerships performance
  • Perform regular alliance check-ups/audits to manage relationships in order to detect problems and recommend corrective measures to the teams of Alliance & Partnerships
  • Define key dimensions of alliance value and manage the partnerships performance
  • Align with alliance partners to clarify mutual expectations and jointly define how to measure success to ensure mutually beneficial relationships jointly with other managers of Alliance & Partnerships.
  • Design policies that contribute to the creation of an environment where partnerships can thrive
  • Ensure an effective framework is in place to create, maintain and support business relationships
  • Monitor revenue performance, estimates of incremental values, pax demand and spill figures
  • Define alliance life cycles and identify and monitor changing goals as the relationship evolves
  • Create a strategic roadmap for each product to ensure delivery of key values
  • Ensure performance from partners against set KPI’s including delivery of a lower customer acquisition cost through the partnership to ensure cost management
  • Identify opportunities for new partnerships to expand market reach and improve business performance
  • Perform “what-if” forecasting scenarios on proactive and competition reactive business cases
  • Evaluate and mitigate risks
  • Designing strategies for enhancing adherence and monitor change in relevant regulations to enhance compliance
  • Manage the governance process of airline partnerships
  • Liaise with Business Intelligence to provide needed data for the teams and the management
  • Engage with/coordinate with various stakeholders and internal teams including legal, e-commerce, commercial, marketing, CRM, sales etc towards smooth execution of planned activities
  • Plan, evaluate and improve the business processes in Alliances and Partnerships

Management & Leadership

  • Contribute towards the development of global alliance and partnership strategy to identify new opportunities
  • Execution of airline relationship management function strategy
  • Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
  • Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.
  • Provide performance related feedback to all teams of alliances & partnerships
  • Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
  • Provide managerial support in other management roles of the department if needed
  • Managing projects – objectives, deadlines and schedules in alliances & partnerships as required

 

About You:

To be considered for this role you must also show broad experience from different facets of commercial cooperation with other airlines, such as network management, revenue management, passenger sales, distribution etc.

You must hold a Bachelors degree, with a minimum of 8 years job-related experience. Qualifications in Business Management or Aviation Management and Project management experience will be desirable

Strong knowledge of MS office, IT skills including use of Automated Management systems (Oracles, and SAP) is desired, along with excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Extensive travel will be required at times.
