Help on how to apply

Applying for a position couldn't be easier using the Application Process. The following information contains instructions on how to complete the different sections in order for your application to be processed.

 

Position Detail

The Position Detail screen displays information about the job you selected. The following information is displayed about the position: job title, location, Business Area, etc. A description of the position's responsibilities and requirements including desired skills for the position. In addition to viewing the information about the job, you can apply for the job. Certain positions might require you to attach electronic photographs in .jpg or .gif format. Please ensure you have these available when you apply.

Click the Apply button that appears below the job description.

Registration/Login

Since you must be logged in to apply for jobs through the site, the login screen will appear. From this screen, you can log in and apply for the job or create a new account if you are not already registered.

Instructions for returning users

If you are a registered user, click the "Login" option on the user login screen. Log in with your User ID and Password to access your application. You will then be asked "Where did you here about this vacancy?". Clicking "Save and Continue" allows you to go on and build a new application relevant to the job you are now applying for.

Instructions for new users

If you are not a registered user, proceed through the following process:

Step One:

Register screen: enter email address, and a password (for future logins). The email address you enter will serve as your User ID when logging into the site in future sessions. Click Register.

Step Two:

In the "Where did you here about this vacancy?" make the appropriate selection from the drop down list and click "Register". This allows you to go on and build a new application relevant to the job you are now applying for.

Step Three:

You will be asked to fill in your personal details followed by some multiple-choice questions. These help us assess your suitability for the position along with all the other information. Once this completed go on to fill in the remainder of the details. Applications which are not completed in full will not be considered.

 

Application Process

The Application process is where you enter all your details relevant to the role. Each time you have filled in a section you will be returned to the Intermediate Screen. The Intermediate Screen shows you the information the employer would like to collect from you for that vacancy.

Click on any of the headings and proceed to either enter the details or update existing details. In each of the sections compulsory fields are marked with an asterix. Once you have completed and saved the information in each section you will always be returned to the Intermediate Screen or taken to the next required section. Once you complete all the required sections click Finish at the bottom of the Intermediate Screen to submit the application.

 

Personal Details

This section gathers all biographical information for you. It is important to complete all the fields in this section. Once completed, you will be returned to the Intermediate Screen.

Mobile phone numbers

To receive notifications via SMS on important updates to your application status (e.g. interview invitation, application under review, etc.) kindly do the following:

  1. Type in a valid mobile phone number along with the country code.
  2. The number must start with + or 00
  3. Do not use hyphens, periods, spaces or any other special characters.

Questions and Answers

In the application process you have to complete the employer may have further questions to ask. These consist of multiple choice questions and free text questions. Please do not use the forward and back buttons on Internet Explorer. Only use the navigation buttons within the web page.

 

Career History

Please enter the details of your career relevant to the job you are applying to. Fill in the information to the best of your ability. Some fields may not be totally relevant to your particular role. Answer the information to the best of your ability. Input the information in reverse Chronological order. After each career entry click "Add more Career History" until you have a completed Career history on the system. Once all are completed click "Save and Continue". This will return you to the Intermediate Screen.

 

Key Skills

This allows you to select different key skills you wish to highlight to the employer. Look at the job description and see if it specifies any particular skills in there. In this section then add your level of expertise in this area and your frequency of use. If there are other skills, not mentioned in the job description that you feel are relevant to the job then feel free to add these too. Examples may include proficiency in multiple languages or in a technical area. Select "Add more Skills" to add more skills and "Save and Continue" when you have completed this section which will return you to the Intermediate Screen. Selecting Cancel at any time returns you to the Intermediate Screen.

 

Qualifications

Include all relevant qualifications to your application in this section. You can add multiple qualifications by selecting "Add more Academics". In the "Name" field type the name of the institution where the qualification was attained. In the Qualification / Title enter the name of the Qualification & Level for example Mathematics BSc. Once completed select "Save and Continue" to return you to the Intermediate Screen.

 

Required Attachments

This is where you attach any other documents required for the application - a passport size photograph, for example. The types of files accepted are listed on the attachments page itself, please ensure that your file extension matches one of the allowed types. To attach a file Click browse, locate the file and select Open. Do this for all required files, then select continue at the bottom of the page. This should take you to the Intermediate Screen or to a required section that needs to be completed. If you require any technical support click here

 

References

To make the recruitment process more efficient all applications should include this information. Please enter individuals here who are prepared to provide information about your character and attitude. Typically there should be two of these either personal or professional. If you don’t wish the employer to contact the referee without your permission please indicate this in the "Can we approach the referee..." field. If you wish to add more references select the "Add more references" button, otherwise select "Save and Continue".

 

Cover Letter

You are only able to add this information once; it cannot be changed or updated once added! Therefore, please ensure it is complete before selecting Save. Avoid the use of bullet points, bold & italics. It is a good idea to construct this section on you word processor then paste it in to this area. Include here your standard covering letter tailored for the particular role you are applying to.

 

Attach a resume

You can add a CV per vacancy. The types of files accepted are listed on the page itself, please ensure that your file extension matches one of the allowed types. To attach a document Click browse, locate the file and select Open. Select "Continue" at the bottom of the window and your CV should now be attached. You can check this by selecting the Attach CV button again. Do not use the back and forward buttons on Internet Explorer.
